Internet is changing society. Being connected at all times and everywhere is now becoming essential, not only for working, but also for communicating, locating, buying, being informed.

Thus, Internet is the enabling technology for a huge variety of applications, which use both physical and social sensors as terminals, a variety of communication channels, a variety of servers for data management and search, and Web sites or Webb apps to interact with users.

The "Internet Engineering" suggested study plan gives the oppurtunity of studying these four technological elements (sensors, channels, archives, interfaces) so as to master the design and development of a huge number of applications, which are required in any organization or enterprise, regardless of its size and mission.

The course is part of the "software methodologies" area, in addition to mandatory courses it should include 15 credits of methodological courses in TABA table: TECHNOLOGIES FOR INFORMATION SYSTEMS, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE e SOFT COMPUTING. It also includes some Telecommunications Engineering courses for at least 10 credits.

The specific courses from TABB should cover the four aspects: sensors (INTERNET OF THINGS), channels (WIRELESS INTERNET, MIDDLEWARE TECHNOLOGIES FOR DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS), data management and search (DATA MANAGEMENT FOR THE WEB), applications (ADVANCED USER INTERFACES: INTERACTION, DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF MOBILE APPLICATIONS).
